Did you know that this Tandy 600
computer was manufactured in October 1985? You can tell by
the product date code.
How
to Decode the Radio Shack Product Date Codes.
Many RadioShack products have a small sticker on
the back of the item, or inside the battery compartment to
designate the manufacture date. According to sources, the date
code consists of a number (from 1 to 12), followed by the letter
"A", followed by another number (from 0-9).
The first
number represents the month of manufacture, while the last
number represents the year of manufacture. (The "A" itself means
nothing and just acts as a separator between the month and the
year.) For example, the date code 12A5 would decode to December
1975, December 1985, December 1995, or December 2005.
For reasons unclear, the
creators of the iPhone, iPad, and many other hand-held devices
refused to permit Adobe Flash Player to work on their
device. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to view the
catalogs and publications on this site. But now you can
view all the Radio Shack Catalogs in Flash format (where you can
virtually flip-through the pages) AND view the
Radio Shack Catalogs in HTML format!
